Helheim, the pioneers of Norwegian Viking Metal, have been running since 1992. Since then six albums and three MCDs have been produced in the name of the Norse realm of the condemned dead. With almost 20 years of live experience they have become one of the true top performances in the scene.
Their latest MCD “Åsgards Fall” has been amazingly received by audience and press everywhere. The coming album “Heiðindómr ok mótgangr” is to be released mid May 2011 together with a DVD with two live performances from The Inferno Festival 2009 (Oslo, Norway) and from The With Full Force Festival XVI (Germany). The Viking metallers of Helheim has been going for years, constantly improving and experimenting with their sound. After signing to german Massacre records, the Norwegians unleashed the sonic onslaught "Yersina Pestis" to great acclaim. Helheim has recently signed with Dark Essence Records which just released Helheims new and criticaly acclaimed record " The Journeys and the Experiences of Death". Helheim ble startet i '92, og har siden den gang gitt ut 3 album og en M-CD. De har i sommer spilt inn en ny M-CD ved navn 'Helsviti', som vil delvis bli presentert under Hole in the sky. Uttrykksformen de har valgt er dypt rotfestet i det dystrere del av norrøn mytologi, noe som musikken vil gjennspeile. (HITS 2001)
